Personal information and payment information is thought to have been accessed.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Ticketmaster data breach information<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Ticketmaster data breach means that customers\u2019 personal information and payment information may have been accessed by an unknown third-party. Ticketmaster say that malicious software was discovered on a \u201ccustomer support product\u201d hosted by Inbenta Technologies, who are a third-party supplier to Ticketmaster.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re already taking cases on and we will be closely monitoring developments as to numbers of customers who have been affected.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Are you affected by the Ticketmaster data breach?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>If you have received a breach notification email from Ticketmaster, your personal and payment information may have been exposed.<\/p>\n<p>Ticketmaster say that \u201cForensic teams and security experts are working around the clock to understand how the data was compromised\u201d, but as with any other data breach of its nature, the damage has already been done.<\/p>\n<p>The breach has been reported to the Information Commissioner\u2019s Office (ICO) as well as credit card companies, banks and other relevant authorities. Ticketmaster are also offering the standard credit monitoring service to affected customers as a result of the breach.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>What can you do if you are affected?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>If you&#8217;re affected by the Ticketmaster data breach, you may be eligible to claim for data protection compensation.<\/p>\n<p>One important question that needs to be answered is why the vulnerability has existed since February 2018. Like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dataleaklawyers.co.uk\/blog\/equifax-breach-victims-face-further-risks-from-scammers-fraudsters\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Equifax data breach last year<\/strong><\/a>, where data was exposed for several months before Equifax realised there was an issue, we\u2019re keen to know exactly how the data has been exposed for such a prolonged period of time before the exposure was identified.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>GDPR<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>We assume that the data has been left exposed up until June 2018, which is after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dataleaklawyers.co.uk\/blog\/ico-publishes-useful-gdpr-guide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>GDPR deadline<\/strong><\/a>.
