This time it\u2019s the 500px data breach that may have affected all 15 million of its worldwide users.<\/p>\n<p>The Canada-based online photography networking platform (that also has an app) is understood to have identified security issue last year. However, it\u2019s taken some six months for the organisation to discover that they\u2019ve been breached.<\/p>\n<p>The length of time that\u2019s passed is particularly worrying. It means that victims of the 500px data breach may have already been targeted by criminals. Victims may have had no idea that their data had been exposed given that news of the breach has only just hit the headlines.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3><strong>About the 500px data breach<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The 500px data breach may affect all 15 million of its users, but it said to have particularly affected those who signed up to the service before 5<sup>th<\/sup> July 2018.<\/p>\n<p>We don\u2019t know how many of their users are based here in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>Data exposed as a result of a breach that we assume stems from a security issue is said to include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Names;<\/li>\n<li>Email addresses;<\/li>\n<li>Dates of birth;<\/li>\n<li>Locations;<\/li>\n<li>Gender;<\/li>\n<li>Hashed passwords.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It appears that an \u201cunauthorised party\u201d gained access to their systems on 5<sup>th<\/sup> July 2018. They were able to access some of the users\u2019 information listed above. It appears that security teams at the organisation only noticed that a breach had taken place last month.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>What to do if you\u2019re affected by the 500px data breach<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>If you\u2019re affected by the 500px data breach, we understand that a password reset process should already be underway for you.
