The formal name for the action for compensation for victims of the 2018 cyber-attacks is the British Airways Data Event Group Litigation.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s important to understand that this is the official action where our firm is a part of the Steering Committee that\u2019s jointly responsible for the conduct of the litigation. When law firms talk about groups and group actions, they may simply be referring to their own group of clients. As such, it\u2019s important to understand what the official and formal GLO (Group Litigation Order) is to make sure that you\u2019re a part of the formal court action that\u2019s proceeding.<\/p>\n

About the British Airways Data Event Group Litigation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The presiding Judge in the British Airways Data Event Group Litigation case is Mr Justice Warby, and the managing court is The Queen\u2019s Bench Division of the High Court of Justice (Media and Communications List).<\/p>\n

The date that the Order was made was 4th<\/sup> October 2019, which is the day that the big hearing took place that we attended. Disappointingly, not all firms who are trying to take cases forward even bothered to turn up, which is a red flag in our view when it comes to looking for a law firm to instruct.<\/p>\n
