As a leading, specialist data breach compensation law firm, we\u2019re often in the news<\/strong><\/a>. Last week, we featured in the Mirror<\/strong> <\/a>with regards to the final deadline for BA compensation cases to be submitted.<\/p>\n

Making sure that victims know about the deadline to claim is an important part of the work that we do. We have been – and still are –\u00a0 involved in dozens of group actions<\/strong><\/a>, some of which (like the BA Group Action<\/strong>) have formed into a GLO. When a GLO (Group Litigation Order) is established, the court will normally enforce a deadline for people to join, and that\u2019s what we have in the British Airways action.<\/p>\n

People need to know that there\u2019s a strict time limit in force to launch your claim, and there\u2019s work that needs to be done to make sure that you hit the deadline.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re not yet a client of ours and you want to make sure that you don\u2019t miss the final deadline for BA compensation claims, here\u2019s what you need to do:<\/p>\n

  1. Go to the BA Group Action website here;<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Answer the initial questions to find out if you could be eligible to claim compensation;<\/li>\n
  3. If you are eligible, you can then join our client group<\/strong> and benefit from our funding, insurance and No Win, No Fee representation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    In terms of making sure you\u2019re signed up, it\u2019s as simple as that.<\/p>\n

    The next stage is to then make sure that you\u2019re fully prepared before the court deadline expires. It may feel like there\u2019s still plenty of time to claim, but we do need to make sure that your court file is properly prepared well in advance of the deadline. We don\u2019t want to be rushing around at the last minute and increase the risk of missing out.<\/p>\n

    We will also normally close our books for new cases in advance of the deadline as well.<\/p>\n

    What happens if you miss the deadline?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    If you miss the final deadline for BA compensation claims to be submitted, you could end up receiving nothing at all as a victim of the data breaches.<\/p>\n

    We have seen people try to join late in previous actions; one example involved their solicitor (not us!) failing to get them added to the group register in time. The judge refused their request for joining late because there wasn\u2019t a good reason for it. Judges will also not typically accept the reason that a person \u2018didn\u2019t know\u2019 about the deadline either.<\/p>\n
