Banking or credit card details, medical information, and social security numbers, were reportedly <strong>not<\/strong> on the server, the company has said.<\/p>\n<p>It is estimated about 3.3 million members of the insurance plan have been affected by the data breach, but there is no evidence that the data has been used inappropriately. As of yet&#8230;<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nIt is believed that access first happened on 21<sup>st<\/sup> May, but was not discovered until 6<sup>th<\/sup> July. Cyber attacks are becoming more and more common with huge private and public organisations across the globe suffering massive breaches from targeted hacks, like the one we have seen here.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A little information in the hands of cyber criminals can unfortunately go a long way.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the UK, <a href=\"\/talktalk-customer-data-breach\">TalkTalk<\/a> and <a href=\"\/university-of-greenwich-data-leak\">Greenwich University<\/a> have both recently fallen foul of serious and targeted data hacks that have affected thousands upon thousands of people.
