Many people unfortunately fell victim to identity fraud in 2020. It was another year that has been \u00a0plagued by data breaches, leaks and hacks, with an increase that was widely attributed to the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n

Why were so many people affected by identity fraud in 2020?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The greater reliance on technology has accelerated in recent years, and even more so as a result of Covid-19 pandemic. With businesses forced to move to working remotely and online, and many consumers going \u2018cashless\u2019 and having to shop online, the increase in information, and information access, has been significant.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, this rapid digitisation has revealed existing weaknesses in the security systems of many companies.
