According to instructions that have been provided to us, the incident \u2013 classed as a security breach \u2013 arises from a phishing attack on the account of a senior member of the finance team.<\/p>\n<p>It is understood that the attack took place on 22<sup>nd<\/sup> February 2022 and resulted in the emails, email folders and the contact list of the breached account being accessed. Aspen Healthcare has looked into who could be affected and what information may have been exposed, and they have identified that information such as the following may have been compromised:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full names.<\/li>\n<li>Addresses.<\/li>\n<li>Dates of birth.<\/li>\n<li>Job titles.<\/li>\n<li>Job descriptions.<\/li>\n<li>Employee numbers.<\/li>\n<li>Salary details.<\/li>\n<li>National Insurance Numbers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The usual kind of advice and recommendations have been made in respect of what people should do if they are affected by the data breach. These include security precautions and taking extra care, as the risk of being targeted by criminals may now be significant.<\/p>\n<p>We can only assume that the phishing attack on the compromised account was a case of something like a suspicious link being clicked that has then resulted in the access event that has caused the information exposure.
