According to media coverage, it is understood that some letters were sent to homes that did not require notification of the rebate because they did not pay direct debit, and some were addressed to the wrong recipients.<\/p>\n

Whilst Liverpool City Council has been quick to assure people that nobody will lose out and it will not be possible (they say) for people to claim a rebate on behalf of someone else, this is still a potential data breach. It appears that people’s personal information has been sent to the wrong recipients which is the core of the issue that Liverpool City Council is facing.<\/p>\n
